Markets :: Plastics :: Polyvinyl chloride Cyclone Forces Chemplast Sanmar to Temporarily Shut PVC Plant12:01 AM MST | January 4, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Chemplast Sanmar (Chennai, India) informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (Mumbai) yesterday that the company’s 170,000-m.t./year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) facility at Cuddalore, India has been temporarily shut down as a result of cyclone ‘Thane’, which hit the city on December 30, 2011. There was, however, no major damage to the plant, Chemplast Sanmar adds. The plant is expected to become operational in ten days.
