BASF to sell PVC modifier business to Kaneka Belgium

BASF announced today that it signed a contract with Kaneka Belgium (Westerlo-Oevel), a subsidiary of Kaneka Corp., to sell its Vinuran polyvinyl chloride (PVC) modifier business. BASF is selling its inventory and customer list to Kaneka. BASF plant based at Ludwigshafen, which produces the modifiers and its employees are not part of the transaction. BASF says it is currently checking out all possible alternatives for the PVC modifier plant at Ludwigshafen. Closing of the deal, subject to approvals by antitrust authorities, is planned in the first quarter of 2014...
