Metabolix launches biobased PVC additive

Metabolix (Cambridge, MA) has launched a biobased polymeric performance additive for recycled polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The I6003rp-branded additive was developed based on data confirming that specific Metabolix grades of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) have superb miscibility with PVC and enhance the processing and properties of recycled PVC. This certified biobased process aid lowers processing torque and improves properties, the company says.
