Ukraine PVC plant to restart following agreement between government and Lukoil

The government of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Lukoil (Moscow) to restart production at Karpatnaftokhim, Lukoil's  polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production affiliate at Kalush, Ukraine, according to a statement from the office of Yuriy Boiko, the deputy prime minister of Ukraine. The MOU, part of an anticrisis initiative aimed at restarting idled industrial companies, commits Karpatnaftokhim's owners to restart the plant within 3 months and bring it to pre-closing production levels, the reports say.
