Report: Speculation resurfaces about possible closure of Total's Carling cracker

Market speculation has resurfaced over the future of Total's steam cracker at Carling, France, according to a report from French financial newspaper Les Echos. A refinery and petrochemical Central Works Council (CEC) has been convened by Total for 4 September and the company could announce a decision at the meeting to close the cracker, according to a trade union representative quoted by Les Échos.
