Ineos Nova Cuts European PS Production by 30%

Ineos Nova says it will cut its European polystyrene (PS) production by 30% in October to balance supply with demand. "The demand for PS has continued to be significantly lower than expected and the outlook remains uncertain," the company says. In September margins have reached a record low and are unsustainable, the company adds. Ineos Nova says it aims to "immediately restore acceptable margins to its European PS business in October and will endeavour to retain a significant part of the styrene monomer contract price drop...
