Markets :: Plastics :: Polystyrene Dow and CPChem Link Styrenics in the Americas10:33 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Peck Hwee Sim Dow Chemical and Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) have agreed to place their styrenics assets in the Americas in a 50-50 joint venture. The transaction is expected to close in the second half, subject to regulatory approvals. Dow plans to place its styrene plant at Camaçari, Brazil, and its polystyrene (PS) plants at Gales Ferry, CT; Ironton, OH; Joliet, IL; Torrance, CA; Cartagena, Colombia; and Guaruja, Brazil into the jv.
