Markets :: Plastics :: Polypropylene Uhde and Basell Confirm Egyptian Propylene-PP Unit12:37 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Uhde and Basell have confirmed their contributions to a previously announced propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene (PP) complex at Port Said, Egypt (CW, Nov. 29/Dec. 6, 2006, p. 14). Egyptian Propylene and Polypropylene Co. (EPPC; Cairo) will own and operate the $680-million complex, which is due to start production in late 2009. Uhde will build the entire complex and supply the company’s Star technology for the propane dehydro unit, which will have capacity to make 350,000 m.t./year of propylene.
