Markets :: Plastics :: Polypropylene Sahara and LyondellBasell Start up PP Complex at Al Jubail2:04 PM MST | November 3, 2009 | Natasha Alperowicz Al-Waha Petrochemical Co., a joint venture in which Sahara Petrochemicals Co. has 75% and LyondellBasell 25%, has started up its new propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene (PP) complex at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The complex uses LyondellBasell's Spherizone technology to produce 450,000 m.t./year of PP. It is the largest unit to date to use the Spherizone process. The complex offers "integrated Middle East-advantaged production costs" and close proximity to target markets of Saudi Arabia, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, says Omar...
