Plant Closures in Hundreds, Job Cuts in Thousands, as Industry Copes With Recession

BASF, Dow and DuPont, the world’s three largest chemical companies, have shuttered, idled or cut production at some 460 plants, according a review of recent news in CW. Other companies such as LyondellBasell, Ineos and Terra have taken production totaling at least 7.45 millon mt/year offline.
