LyondellBasell Suspends Spot Sales of Polypropylene

LyondellBasell says it has suspended spot sales of polypropylene (PP) and other non-contractual sales due to “severe” production difficulties at its Bayport, TX and Lake Charles, LA sites. LyondellBasell is “hopeful” that a formal force majeure declaration can be avoided and says “other steps” will be taken to maximize existing inventory to supply contract customers.
