LCY Chemical ordered to halt polypropylene production at Kaohsiung

LCY Chemical (Taipei), which is being investigated by Taiwanese authorities over its role in the 31 July explosions at Kaohsiung, Taiwan, which killed 30 people and injured more than 300, has been ordered to halt production at its polypropylene (PP) plant. LCY announced a voluntary four-day halt in PP production following the explosions, but the authorities have ordered the company to continue suspending production until the competent authority of the municipality completely reviews the facility and approves its safety and improvement plans.   Tseng...
