Honam and Qatari Partners Enlarge Scope of Mesaieed Project

Qatar Intermediate Industries Holding Co. (Doha) and Honam Petrochemical Corp. are trying to revive their previously announced petrochemicals joint venture project at Mesaieed, Qatar and have enlarged its scope, CW has learned. Sources tell CW that the partners are planning to add a 700,000-m.t./year ethylene glycol (EG) plant and increase capacity of the mixed xylenes unit from the original 120,000 m.t./year to 600,000 m.t./year.
