Markets :: Plastics :: Polypropylene Fire at Russian PP Plant Kills Three9:32 AM MDT | April 21, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff A fire broke out at a polypropylene (PP) plant at Budyennovsk, Russia on April 4 killing three workers and injuring a further three. The plant is operated by OOO Stavrolen, part of Lukoil-Neftekhim (Moscow), a subsidiary of energy company Lukoil (Moscow). The accident occurred near a polymerization reactor and was promptly brought under control, Lukoil says. There were no leakages or spills of hazardous substances, the company adds.
