Chinese firm selects Dow’s Unipol polypropylene technology

Dow Chemical says it has licensed its Unipol polypropylene (PP) technology to Oriental Energy (Zhangjiagang, China) to be used in a 400,000-m.t./year PP plant at Zhangjiagang. It will be the first Dow Unipol PP unit in the eastern China coastal area, the center of the Chinese PP market, Dow says. Oriental Energy’s plant will produce homopolymers as well as impact and random copolymers using propylene sourced from an upstream propane dehydrogenation...
