(Xining, Qinghai province, China) has selected Dow’s Unipol polypropylene (PP) process technology for its new 160,000 m.t./year PP plant at Golmud, Qinghai province. Installation at Qinghai Salt Lake is scheduled to start in 2012, with start-up expected in the second half of 2013, Dow says. The unit will provide PP as part of Qinghai Salt Lake’s integrated magnesium metal project to produce homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers.
