Braskem to Acquire Dow’s PP Business for $340 Million

de Mendonca: Boosting PP business in U.S. Braskem has announced plans to acquire Dow Chemical’s polypropylene (PP) business for $340 million. The deal includes Dow’s PP manufacturing facilities at Schkopau and Wesseling, Germany, and Freeport and Seadrift, TX. The deal increases Braskem’s U.S. PP capacity by 50%, to about 3.1 billion lbs/year, making it the largest U.S. producer.
