UK firm reopens mixed plastics recycling facility

Biffa Polymers (Middlesbrough, UK), a subsidiary of waste management firm Biffa (High Wycombe, UK), has reopened its postconsumer plastics recycling line, at Redcar, UK. It follows a plant upgrade involving a significant investment in new equipment that will enable the facility a to run at full capacity once more, Biffa says. Biffa Polymers opened the mixed plastics recycling line at Redcar 18 months ago but encountered difficulties in recovering material of high enough quality and yield.
