Markets :: Plastics :: Polyethylene Sibur Eyes Gas Cracker in Russia’s Astrakhan Region11:13 AM MST | February 4, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Sibur (Moscow), a Gazprom subsidiary, says it plans to spend 236 million rubles ($9.6 million) on the front-end engineering and design of a petrochemical complex, comprising a gas cracker and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) facility, in the Astrakhan region of southern Russia. Astrakhangazprom (Astrakhan), another Gazprom subsidiary, would supply raw materials to the plant, Sibur says.
