Polymers Sales Rise

U.S. sales and captive use of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) rose 0.2% for the first 10 months of the year, to 69.3 billion, ACC says. Year-to-date production was up 3.5%, to 70.1 billion lbs. PE sales eked out a 1% gain for the period, to 31.4 billion lbs, but sales and captive use of all other polymers fell from the year-ago period.
