Polish firms study options for petchems project

Refining company Grupa Lotos (Gdańsk, Poland) and chemicals producer Azoty Tarnów (Tarnów, Poland) have agreed to carry out a preliminary feasibility study for alternative projects to build a major petrochemical complex. The study will examine two options: a steam cracker and polyethylene unit, or an aromatics complex. The study will analyze the technological and economic potential for building the eventual plant at the Grupa Lotos production site or the Azoty Tarnów site.
