Nova Chemicals breaks ground on Joffre PE expansion project

Nova Chemicals has broken ground on a previously announced expansion project at its Joffre, AB, complex, the company announced today. A ground-breaking celebration was held to mark the official start of the construction phase of the polyethylene 1 (PE1) expansion. The project is expected to be commissioned in the fall of 2015 and cost approximately C$1 billion ($980 million), including capital and start-up costs.
