Market Cautiously Optimistic as Demand Slowly Recovers

Polyolefin demand has yet to accelerate out of the near-standstill that developed in December. Buyers and converters say they are keeping resin and finished goods inventories low in case fears of a U.S. recession are realized. However, polymer producers are cautiously optimistic that demand for the first three quarters of the year will at least match year-earlier levels.
