LyondellBasell's Wesseling LDPE Unit Rocked by Explosion

An explosion rocked one of LyondellBasell’s low-density polyethylene (LDPE) units at Wesseling, Germany over the weekend, affecting LDPE production. The blast injured seven workers at the site, and the unit remains partially shut, the company says. The site has two LDPE units with a total capacity to produce 430,000 m.t./year of LDPE.
