LyondellBasell to Keep Chocolate Bayou HDPE Unit Open

LyondellBasell says it will not close its 480,000-m.t./year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit at Chocolate Bayou, TX, despite an earlier decision to shut down the unit and dismantle the plant. The unit will remain open due to improved demand for HDPE and improved margins and operating costs at the site, LyondellBasell says.
