LyondellBasell Keeps Chocolate Bayou HDPE Unit Open

LyondellBasell says it will not close its 480,000-m.t./year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit at Chocolate Bayou, TX, despite an earlier decision to shut down the unit and dismantle the plant. Chocolate Bayou: Plans to continue resin production. The unit will remain open due to improved demand for HDPE and improved margins and operating costs at the site, LyondellBasell says.
