Jacobs awarded EPCM contract for Borealis XLPE expansion at Stenungsund

Borealis has awarded Jacobs Engineering with an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services contract for a previously announced project to increase cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) production capacity at Borealis's manufacturing site at Stenungsund, Sweden, Jacobs says. The contract value has not been disclosed. Jacobs, under the terms of the contract, is working to debottleneck an XLPE compounding and soaking train and increase intermediate storage capacity for the XLPE base resin in the upstream polymerization plant.
