JBIC to help finance sulfuric acid production plant in Turkmenistan

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC; Tokyo) has signed a buyer's credit agreement totaling up to ¥8.9 billion ($87.85 million; JBIC portion) with the Government of Turkmenistan acting through the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, the JBIC said.  The loan is intended to finance Turkmenhimiya (Ashghabad), a state-owned chemical company, to purchase a complete plant facility from Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (Tokyo) and others, as it builds a sulfuric acid production plant at Türkmenabat City, in eastern...
