IHS WPC 2014: Worldwide PE demand to continue growing

Polyethylene (PE) demand increased worldwide from 66.1 million m.t./year in 2008, to about 82 million m.t./year in 2013, despite a global recession that suppressed demand in 2008-09, said Nick Vafiadis, senior director/global polyolefins and plastics at IHS Chemical, speaking at the IHS World Petrochemical Conference (WPC), which took place recently in Houston.
