Tecnimont awarded contract for LDPE plant at Ethylene XXI complex

Tecnimont, a subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont, has been awarded a contract by Etileno XXI Services to provide engineering and procurement services on a lump-sum basis for a 300,000-m.t./year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, and which will form part of the previously announced Ethylene XXI petrochemical complex. The Braskem Idesa (Mexico City) joint venture is developing the Ethylene XXI project for completion in 2015. The LDPE unit will use Lupotech T technology supplied by LyondellBasell Industries.
