Uhde Inventa-Fischer to build PET plant for Micro Polypet in India

Uhde Inventa-Fischer has been awarded a contract by Micro Polypet, a joint venture between RLG Group (Vadodara, India) and Action Petrochem (New Delhi), to build a 216,000-m.t./year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant at Panipat, India. Purified terephthalic acid feedstock will be supplied by Indian Oil Corp.’s plant at an adjacent site. Uhde Inventa-Fischer says the PET plant will be based on its Melt-To-Resin (MTR) technology, which replaces the solid-state postcondensation process.
