Markets :: Plastics :: PET Uhde Inventa-Fischer Awarded Contract for Sabic PET Plant12:07 PM MDT | June 26, 2009 Uhde Inventa-Fischer says it has been awarded a contract by Sabic to supply technology and provide the complete basic engineering package for an expansion of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) capacity at Sabic’s Arabian Industrial Fiber Co. (Ibn Rushd) affiliate. Uhde Inventa-Fischer will build a plant for Ibn Rushd with capacity for 420,000 m.t./year of PET at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The plant will make various grades of PET resin, Uhde Inventa-Fischer says. Ibn Rushd currently has capacity for about 300,000 m.t./year of bottle-grade PET chips. Sabic owns 52%...
