Markets :: Plastics :: PET Uhde Inventa-Fischer Awarded Contract for PET Plant in Oman12:48 PM MDT | September 8, 2010 | Ian Young Uhde Inventa-Fischer has been awarded a contract by Octal Petrochemicals (Muscat) to build a previously announced 550,000-m.t./year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin plant at Salalah, Oman. The plant will consist of two production lines and be based on Uhde Inventa-Fischer technology. Further details were not disclosed but earlier reports said the plant would be onstream in 2011. Octal announced the project in 2008. The new plant will increase the company's overall PET capacity at Salalah to 880,000 m.t./year and make it the world's largest packaging-grade...
