Researchers convert plastics into disease-fighting nanofibers

Researchers from IBM and the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (Singapore) have made a nanomedicine breakthrough, converting common plastic materials such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) into non-toxic and biocompatible materials designed to target and attack specifically fungal infections, IBM announced today.
