PET Collection Up 9% in 2006

Some 1.272 billion lbs of polyethylene terepthalate (PET) bottles were collected in the U.S. in 2006, a 9% increase over 2005 collection levels, say the National Association for PET Container Resources (Sonoma, CA) and the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers (Washington).
