Markets :: Plastics :: PET Octal Plans Further PET Expansion10:15 AM MDT | April 29, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Octal (Muscat) says it will boost capacity of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins by an additional 500,000 m.t./year at Salalah, Oman by May 2010. The company says the resins will supply bottled beverage markets in Europe, the Mideast, and the U.S. Octal says it has so far allocated about $18 million for engineering work and other items for the project. The expansion is the second of a three-phase PET and amorphous PET (APET) sheet investment at Salalah.
