M&G to Build PTA-PET Complex at Corpus Christi, TX

Mossi & Ghisolfi Group (M&G; Tortona, Italy) says it has selected Corpus Chrisit, TX as the location for a previously announced integrated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) complex. The plant will have capacity to produce about 1 million m.t./year of PET and about 1.2 million m.t./year of PTA, making the PTA unit the largest in the Americas and among the largest in the world, the company says.   The plant will employ the same technology as M&G's 650,000-m.t./year PET unit at Suape, Brazil and the PTA unit will...
