(IOC; New Delhi) expects to complete a detailed feasibility study in March 2010 to build a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant next to the company’s Koyali refinery in the state of Gujarat, India, CW has learned. “We will go to the board for investment approval after that,” says S. Mitra, general manager/petrochemicals at IOC. The plant will have similar capacity to IOC’s recently built 600,000-m.t./year PTA unit at Panipat, India, which should be running at 100% capacity this year, he says. Mitra: Seeking board...
