IHS Chemical: US PET set to rise despite weak demand

The summer of 2013 has been a washout for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in the United States, according to analysts at IHS Chemical. With bottle season over, demand will drop, but prices will retain their upward momentum for the next month or so, boosted by rising feedstock costs. PET producers have nominated increases of 3-4 cents/lb. for September....
