Fire Closes DAK’s PET Resin Plant

DAK Americas (Charlotte, NC) shut its Cedar Creek, NC polyethylene terepthalate (PET) plant on May 1, following a minor fire, says a company spokesperson. Damage to the 330-million lbs/year PET facility was minimal, and the plant is expected to be back to full production shortly, he says.
