Equipolymers Declares PET Force Majeure

Equipolymers (Horgen, Switzerland) says it has declared force majeure on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) shipments from the company’s Ottana, Italy production facility, because an “unexpected and unforeseeable” problem with a main air compressor motor has halted production since August 14. “We are using all reasonable means and efforts to overcome these problems as soon as possible, but at present we are not able to foresee the restart of production in the short term,” says Graham Fox, president and CEO.
