Markets :: Plastics :: PET DuPont Teijin Films to Shut Florence Facility10:22 PM MDT | July 29, 2009 | Deepti Ramesh DuPont Teijin Films, a 50-50 global polyester films joint venture between Teijin and DuPont, says it will permanently shut its Florence, SC facility by the end of 2010. The facility employs about 210 people. The company says it plans to consolidate its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film production in the U.S. at its Hopewell, VA site. This move is part of the structural reform of the company’s European and U.S. operations, which included the permanent shut down of its Circleville, OH plant in February 2009, and one line shut down at Luxembourg last...
