Markets :: Industrial Gases Praxair to Expand Gulf Coast Hydrogen Capacity1:06 PM MDT | June 22, 2011 | Lindsey Bewley Praxair says it will expand hydrogen capacity in Texas and Louisiana and extend its Mississippi River corridor hydrogen pipeline system under long-term supply agreements for 270 million standard cubic feet per day (scfd) with Valero Energy Corporation. Praxair is currently building a 135 million-scfd hydrogen plant at Valero’s St. Charles, LA refinery, of which Valero will consume 120 million scfd of hydrogen and about 400,000 lbs/hour of steam at its new 50,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) hydrocracker, also located at St. Charles.
