Praxair reports earnings, sales growth on acquisitions and stronger volumes

Praxair says that net income increased 4% year-over-year (YOY), to $445 million. Reported earnings were $1.49/share, in line with analyst estimates as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York). Sales of $3 billion grew 7% YOY due to strong volumes in Asia and South America, partially mitigated by lower volumes in Europe, and acquisitions—which contributed 3% growth, the company says.
