Praxair Posts Earnings Gain on Higher Volumes

Praxair reported third-quarter net income of $377 million ($1.21/share), up 19% compared with the same period last year, on sales up 11%, to $2.5 billion. Analysts had expected the company to report earnings of $1.20/share, as reported by Thomson One (New York). Praxair cites “strong” volume growth across all geographic regions, particularly in Asia and South America.
