Praxair Divests Advanced Components Segment

Praxair has sold its advanced components segment, which makes and sells electrostatic chunks (ESCs) and chamber components for semiconductor processing equipment, to FM Industries (FMI; Fremont, CA). FMI is a subsidiary of NGK Insulators, a Japanese electrical products and materials concern. Terms of the deal, including the selling price, were not disclosed.   Praxair’s advanced components segment had $28 million in sales in 2011, and has about 70 employees.
