Praxair Completes Air Separation Expansion at Hurth, Germany

Praxair says it has started up its 1,800-tons/day air separation unit at Hurth, Germany. The new facility more than doubles capacity at the site and will supply gaseous oxygen and nitrogen via pipeline to large customers in the refining, chemical, and steel industries. “The new energy-efficient, state-of-the-art plant provides significant cost savings for current operations and positions Praxair to grow as demand increases from customers along our Rhineland enclave,” says Frank Wegmann, general manager of Praxair Deutschland.
