Gases Earnings Rise on Higher Selling Prices, Improved Volumes

Industrial gases firms say that earnings for the quarter ended September 30 rose on higher selling prices and volumes. Air Products and Praxair each beat the consensus of analysts’ estimates as reported by First Call (Boston). Air Liquide’s sales rose 10%, to €2.9 billion ($4.2 billion). The company did not disclose net income. Revenues from the gas and services division rose 5%, to €2.5 million.
