Air Products' Earnings Improve; Beat Analysts Estimates

Air Products' net income rose 20%, to $294 ($1.35/share) on sales up 10%, to $2.4 billion for its fiscal fourth-quarter ended September 30. The consensus of analysts estimates was for $1.32/share as reported by Reuters. Earnings exclude charges totaling $22 million (10 cts/share) for costs associated with the company's offer to by Airgas. Air Products cites improved volumes for the rise in sales and earnings.
