Markets :: Industrial Gases Air Liquide to Supply Gases to Semiconductor Foundry in China11:17 PM MDT | October 1, 2009 | Deepti Ramesh Air Liquide says it has signed a long-term gas supply contract with Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC; Shanghai, China), an integrated circuit foundry, for its new wafer fabs at Shenzhen, China. Air Liquide, under the terms of the deal, will supply SMIC with carrier gases including nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, argon and compressed air, as well as specialty gases, with start-up scheduled for early 2010. Air Liquide says it will invest in various facilities and production units to support this contract and the development of the electronics...
